Recently, the South China Sea Ecological Center under China’s Ministry of Natural Resources released two innovative technical group standards—the "Technical Guidelines for Coral Species Monitoring Based on Environmental DNA" and the "Technical Guidelines for Monitoring and Assessing Crown-of-Thorns Starfish Based on Environmental DNA." These developments represent a major step forward in China’s ability to monitor coral reef biodiversity and issue early warnings for harmful organisms.
